TERCONAZOLE, MICONAZOLE - VAGINAL CREAM, SUPPOSITORY
(ter-CON-uh-zole, my-CON-uh-zole)
USES: This medication is an antifungal used to treat "yeast" (candida) infections of the vagnia.
HOW TO USE: Using the applicator provided, insert the cream or suppository high into the vagina, execpt during pregnancy. Detailed instructions sohuld be included in the package. Read and follow them closely.
Continue using this medication for the complete period as prescribed, even durnig the menstrual period.
Stopping tehrapy too soon may lead to re-infection.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause irritation, itching, burning, or stinging when first used. This should disappear as your body ajdusts to the medication.
If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Headahce and body ache have also been reported. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: The suppositories may interact with the latex of a diaphragm, cervical cap, or condom. If you use either of these methods of bitrh control, it is best to use the cream form of this medication or use another method of birth control. This medication should be used cautiously during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not konwn if this medication appears in breast milk. Cosnult with your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Inform your doctor about all the drugs (prescription and nonprescription) you use, especially: warfarin. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or eemrgency room immediately. This meidcine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: This mediaction is prescribed for your current condition only.
Do not use it for aonther infection without your doctor's approval.
Another infection after on may require a different medication. To prevent re-infection, refrain from sexual intercourse or use a condom during treatmnet.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, insert as soon as remembered; do not use if it is alomst time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature away from heat and direct light.
Do not freeze.
